Dear partners and friends,

Thank you so much for your incredible efforts to confront global poverty. During this critical time when the proposed cuts to poverty-focused international assistance could literally cost many lives around the world, you have resoundingly responded by e-mailing, calling and visiting your members of Congress.  As Congress continues to consider spending for this current fiscal year, we continue to pray and advocate for fiscal responsibility based on shared sacrifice, not on disproportionate cuts that cost lives.

Please join us this Tuesday, March 15, for a national day of action. We are calling on all concerned about human life and dignity to stand with our brothers and sisters around the world who are poor and vulnerable, and to take 5 minutes of their day on March 15 to make a quick phone call to their members of Congress.

Please join Catholics Confront Global Poverty, CRS and USCCB, on March 15 for a national day of action to stop careless cuts to poverty-focused international assistance that cost lives.  On this day, we ask Catholics in the United States to:

  • Call their members of Congress: Dial 1-866-596-7030 for talking points and to be connected to the Capitol Switchboard;
  • Email members of Congress (choose email and/or fax);
  • Fax members of Congress (choose email and/or fax);
  • Visit members of Congress in DC or district offices; and
  • Post information about this call to action online including Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, blogs, websites, and other media. Sample messages you can use are are provided here (scroll down).

Thank you so much for your support and continued advocacy. Together, we will stop these cuts and preserve poverty-focused international assistance that saves lives.

May God bless you in your efforts,
